Central Tibet with Everest Base Camp Trip : Enticing capital city, Lhasa, is on the roof of the world. Its awe-inspiring splendor of the great Potala Palace truly justifies its remarkable reputation. Busting with pilgrim’s circling the scared Jokhang Temple is outstanding feast for the senses which cannot be under-estimated.
Additionally, the scenery looks incredible across the spectacular Khamba-la (pass) with the turquoise waters of scared lake, Yamdrok-tso, prayer flags, glaciers and great mountains swathed by the snow.
Gyantse is located at the junction of trade routes from India maintaining its aroma. The Tibetan towns retain its feel and illustrate the history of peace, treasures and evidence of past glory with the fort and well-protected monasteries of Gyantse, Shigatse and Sakya.
Qomolangma (Mt Everest) standing alone at the top of the valley looks magnificent from Rhongphu, the tiny monastery. It comes even closer as we walk or drive to the Base Camp.

Day 1 KATHMANDU – GONGGAR AIRPORT – LHASA (Drive 100Kms (3658m, 2 hrs))
A flight from Kathmandu to Gonggar Airport offers one of the most beautiful flights sightseeing in the world. Therefore, it is Worthless trying to express the pleasure of felling the panoramic views and beautiful flight to Gonggar Airport (Lhasa).Your Lhasa tour starts from the airport with a warm welcome from our Tibetan Guide and a driver and experience the Tibetan hospitality accompanied by sweet smile. You will, then, be checked into the booked hotel to relax and acclimatize with the high altitude.

Day 2 SIGHTSEEING IN LHASA
The sightseeing at Lasa will start after a refreshing breakfast. A whole day program will be briefed and an your tour will be guided by experienced guide to Sera Monastery offering an insight to the important aspects of Tibetan Buddhism, Norbulingka and the Barkhor Square. Norbulingka is the summer retreat of the Dalai Lama where you pay a visit. The building was ready in 1956 with richly decorated by Tibetan carvings and paintings. The Tibetan cultural glimpse can also be seen in the Jokhang temple. We can spend some time walking around the busy Barkhor Square and escort back for the hotel.
Day 3 SIGHTSEEING IN LHASA
Today, we visit the majestic Potala Palace, the imposing structure, for sightseeing. You will be guided through the structure of Potala Palace which dominates the landscape of Lhasa. You can experience best Tibetan art as we continue through the ancient chambers. The palace has the vast array of intricate Tibetan murals and beautiful statues along with the tombs of the eight Dalai Lamas.Further, you will be guided to visit beautifully landscaped Drepung Monastery and observe nuns and monks chanting mantra and performing religious discourses. Finally, we will escort you back to hotel for pleasant rest.
Note: The sightseeing of the places will be decided as per the order decided by the Guide since only limited numbers of visitors are allowed to visit the Potala Palace.
Day 4 LHASA – GYANGTSE (3950m, 261KMS, 8hrs)
We take a private land cruiser along with a guide via friendship highway and start driving from Lhasa to Khampa La Pass(4730 meters). We spend some time to enjoy the views of major peaks covered with snow in the eastern region of Himalaya to the south young Norjing Gang Sang spiritual snow mountain range to the west of Yamdrok Lake.
Further, we descend and drive across the local nomadic and farming villages to arrive at the western edge of Yamdrok Lake. We stop here for our picnic lunch at a nice meadow next to the lake.
The trail continues to Karola la pass (5050 meters) and we have our first high altitude adventure experience of Nogjing Gang Sang Glacier Peak and a good time with local yaks and their herders.
Lastly, we end our day, late afternoon we check in a hotel for the pleasant shower and dinner at Gyangese (3850 meters).
Day 5 GYANGTSE – SHIGATSE (3900m, 95KMS, 2 hrs)
Today, we have different historical and cultural centers to visit. After breakfast, we leave for Palkhor Chode monastery including the Kumbum stupa (the only survival with such distinctive structure and the thousands of artworks) and the local ancient Gyangtse fort. We continue our day trip to Shigatse via rich agricultural Nying Chu valley of central Tibet. We stay at hotel and rest.
Day 6 SHIGATSE – SAKYA – SHEGAR (4050m, 280km, 5hrs)
Tashilunpo monastery (the main seat of Panchen Lama) and traditional local market is the major spot for today’s visit. We start our visit after breakfast and drive out from Shigatse town at afternoon. On the way to Shegar, we also visit Sakya Monastery, having big collection of sutra books, of Sakya sect. Sakya was once a political and religious centre of Tibet. We continue our drive to south-west on friendship highway and rest at hotel.
Day 7 SHEGAR (180 km, 8 hrs)-EVREST BASE CAMP(5200M)
We have to drive through the highway of Qomolangma National Park and reach the tiny Rhongphu Gompa at 5000m. Here we can see absolutely stunning views of mountains, we can trek or drive 7km to Everest Base Camp (5200m) and return back to Shegar for rest.
Day 8 SHEGAR – LHASA (3658m, 560 km, 8 hrs)
We leave for Lhasa after breakfast continuing our trip to northeast on the friendship highway.
Day 9 LHASA – GONGGAR AIRPORT – KATHMANDU (1300m, 1hr)
The last day of out memorable trip we fly back to Kathmandu via Gonggar airport. The flight from Gonggar airport over the Himalayan range offers one of the most spectacular aerial views of Himalayan range.
